Chris Shupe joined Coldwell Banker Upchurch Realty in August of 2003 and has since been working diligently with his wife Kim to assist in growing both the Sales and Property Management end of their business. "As a matter of fact, I have been working for her since we were married in 1991, but now this just means I'm actually getting paid for it!" Shupe jokes. Indeed Chris has been a big part of The Shupe Team even before he got his license. Since Kim started with Coldwell Banker back in 2000, Chris has assisted her with Marketing and Advertising strategies. He has an extensive 15 year background in Sales, Marketing and Management and attributes success in those areas to his creative flair. "I actually graduated from UGA's Fine Arts School with a BA in Art History so I have always gravitated toward the artistic end of business," Shupe admits.

A 20 year resident of Athens, Shupe is no stranger to the local community. In fact, many around town know him as just Elvis. An accomplished vocalist, Shupe has been sharing his impersonation of "The King" since he was just ten years old. "Well, some guys play golf... I do Elvis!" he laughs. "I can't explain it really, I have just always loved to sing and act and at a young age I recognized Elvis as a performer that really gave you the whole nine yards!" However, don't let this downplay fool you, Shupe's act is a fantastic detailed regeneration of the pop icon and he has performed alongside many of Athens local bands including The Normaltown Flyers and John Berry. He's done commercials, performed for Fortune 500 companies and even was an extra in the feature film Sweet Home Alabama.

The real estate community is also not foreign territory for Shupe - he served as an Advertising Account Manager for The Real Estate Book back in the early 90's and acted as Affiliate Vice President of the Athens Apartment Association. "It took me ten years to come full circle but I believe this is the industry I was meant to serve," he states. "In fact, when Kim got her license a few years ago I remember discussing her options of which broker and company to affiliate with, in my mind there was no question. I had been given a huge advantage in this business years ago when I had the good fortune of working with just about all of the real estate community, most of whom are still active in the area and most of whom were a real pleasure to work with. But when I thought back to those days, one company really stood out in my mind: Coldwell Banker Upchurch Realty. From the front desk receptionist, to Mr. Upchurch himself, this company worked together as a team and seemed to truly care for one another like members of a family." Chris goes on to say how proud he is to be a part of continuing the great tradition of excellence that Mr. Upchurch had built over the years and that his son Charlie has worked so hard to maintain while growing into one of the largest and most successful Real Estate Companies in the state. So give Chris a call today and let The Shupe Team and Coldwell Banker "Take Care of Your Business!"
